The other day Jesse noticed that our crabapple tree's leaves were starting to fall, so he raked up a pile and took Naomi out to play. Stephen joined in the fun and then Jesse came back and got the camera- so he is the photographer here.

A big bowl of Naomi
Aw, how cute is that? She pulled out a big bowl from the cupboard and sat in it!
And then she didn't know how to get out of it!
The worst of the story?
She kept climbing in and sitting... and getting distressed because she couldn't get out. She fell out a few times, smacking her face on the floor. So I put the bowl away... and she cried.
And then she didn't know how to get out of it!

Naomi watching for the boys
Jesse and Stephen went outside to play. Naomi sat in the window and watched them... then they went into the backyard. So she started calling for them. It's more like louder noises- "Jesse" is almost clear, but not always.
And then they came back and talked to her.
And they left again...
Then Jesse came back to talk with her.

Ina May Gaskin
When I was 16 and realized I wanted to be a midwife, I read all the books I could get from the library. One of them was Spiritual Midwifery, by Ina May Gaskin. I never thought I would ever meet her. A couple weekends ago there was a midwifery conference here and I was able to go. Ina May was the main speaker. I will say that she has become more medical (in my opinion) over the years, which I think is too bad, but she still has a ton of knowledge and it was very cool to actually meet her. And now I have a signed copy of Spiritual Midwifery.

Holding a Zucchini
This year my garden didn't do so well- no idea why, but we just now have a zucchini growing. So I wanted some zucchini bread and we were out of town and drove by a farm stand- so I stopped and bought a couple huge zucchini for $.50 each. Naomi was really impressed and wanted to hold it all the way home.

Naomi and Stephen
All the boys take piano lessons... and Naomi has them wrapped around her little finger. They sit down to play and she runs up and says "all done, all done." Meaning: "I'm "all done" being on the floor, I want to be up there with you." They, of course, pick her up and let her sit beside them. She plays and sings along with them while they practice and she doesn't put up with any slacking. If their hands aren't on the keys- she puts them there! Check it out:
